Our Story:
POP ROC was originally founded in 2017 by Jason Hilton as a pop up comic and collectible shop and could be found at toy shows and conventions. This was birthed out of Jason’s passion for sharing joy with others. In 2018, POP ROC opened a brick and mortar shop and expanded service offerings, becoming Rochester N.Y.’s first cereal bar and comic shop. In 2019, there was a transition in management and by 2020, POP ROC was serving guests by the thousands. The pandemic forced POP ROC to temporarily shut the doors, however, the POP SQUAD came together and figured out creative ways to continue safely serving our community. After the pandemic wreaked unimaginable havoc on the world, the team at POP ROC decided to temporarily close the storefront to ensure without a doubt we were keeping our community, employees and families safe.
Now, as we enter the slow and important job of reopening, we have pivoted to provide our community with several options for us to serve. We believe by working together, rolling up our sleeves and doing our part, we can honor our mission in ways we never thought possible. A world of exciting possibilities awaits.
